The Emerald Isle (Kodiak Island) is the renowned haunt of some of Alaska’s largest brown bears. Our hunting area offers excellent trophy brown bear hunting, along with great opportunities for Sitka blacktail deer and Rocky Mountain goats. Hunting days are spent glassing the alder carpeted hillsides for bears, which are typically on the move as they look for food. When we spot a bear, we carefully assess its trophy value before making a stalk. Deer are found in varied areas and terrain, keeping attentive while glassing will produces many sightings of these highly camouflaged deer. Larger bucks will be on the move looking to encounter receptive does. Once a quality buck is spotted the hunt is on, as we set ourselves up for a shot at a trophy. Our goats are found up high in the grassy mountain slopes. We will camp in the mountains with the goats to help ensure that we can remain in the area long enough to find a larger billy to harvest.
