Kodiak Island harbors some fantastic Sitka black tail deer hunting! These under estimated deer are a enjoyable and challenging hunt. Glass hill sides and throughways is great way to spend a November afternoon. It is not uncommon to harvest bucks pushing the 200lb mark.
“Jake has guided me on five great Alaska hunting adventures, but our trip to chase blacktails on Kodiak was my most favorite. Impressive country, great accommodations, and plenty of nice bucks to stalk. What a memorable experience; I can’t wait to go back.” -BM
On a typical deer hunt we will see around a hundred deer in a week, numerous red fox, ducks and even brown bears. In nine years we have only had one client not fill his deer tags. Largely due to extreme weather conditions! This is a fantastic trip to be done with a small group or with young hunters. Getting their feet wet with a two deer limit, two red fox limit and waterfowl hunting right near camp. Many red fox are shot right near camp or while they are cruising the beaches at low tide.
Hunts are operated from our heated tent camp complete with cots, cot pads and home-style meals. We access this area via float plane and hunters would need to fly to Kodiak Alaska. Alaska Airlines and ERA aviation both service Kodiak from anchorage.
“I had always wanted to hunt Sitka black tails, but hadn’t found a good Alaskan guide…till now! I had a great hunt with Jake and his wife Amber; we saw tons of deer, over two dozen a day, and the three bucks I got were exceptional deer. We also watched bears, fox, hunted ducks, and I really enjoyed hiking the Kodiak Mountains and watching the bucks chase the does during the rut. Jake is a great trophy judge, and I was grateful to have both him and his wife along to lead the way on this hunt. I hope to return and go on a mountain goat and/or bear hunt with them soon, and I would highly recommend Jake for a great trophy deer hunting experience.” Cynthie Fisher, MT
Hunt Price: Deer hunts are only conducted as a 2×1 hunt at $5000 per hunter.
